A "Classy" Giveaway......

MaryAnn Carroll
I was asked by our Family and Consumer Science Teacher, Elaine, if I would like to teach her Fashion and Design Class (new this year) to make some jewelry. They had already learned some of the basics, so I wanted to teach them something I became interested in shortly after learning to string beads. I thought that teaching some simple earrings using wire might be the trick.

First, I enameled some small round beat sets for them to choose from.

My plan was to show them a certain way to bend the wire. I had an example with me. Instead, what happened was that they all started bending their own shapes. That saved me some time ;o)

Next, it was time for some simple hammering techniques....

and some simple patina with Liver of Sulpher .....

And lastly, we have some of their lovely creations just in time for the second class period to end....

So.... since we are in "learning" mode, how would you like to be the new owner of Soldering Made Simple by Joe Silvera. This generous donation is being shared with one of you by our very own Kelli Pope.

We will keep this simple..... Just share your answer to this question-

"What is one thing that you would like to learn or learn more about?"

Please leave your comment with a contact address. I need to be able to get a hold of you if you are the winner! Feel free to share on other social media sites and let us know you did. If you have other ways to spread the word, feel free to share and let us know about it.

-up to three entries per person-

As always,
